The Illustrated Australian Encyclopaedia was edited by Arthur Wilberforce Jose and Herbert James Carter, and published by Angus and Robertson. It was comprised of two parts, “Volume I: A to Lys” (published 1925) and “Volume 2: M to Z” (published 1926). Several follow-up editions were later produced (as were several revised reprintings): 2nd edition (1958), 3rd edition (1977), 4th edition (1983), 5th edition (1988), and 6th edition (1996).
