[Editor: An extract from the news section of the The Sydney Gazette and New South Wales Advertiser of 21 January 1836, suggesting that there should be a public dinner to commemorate, on Tuesday 26 January 1836, the founding of the colony of New South Wales.]
[Anniversary Day 1836]
Our fellow Colonists should bear in mind, that Tuesday next is the 48th Anniversary day of the foundation of this Colony. Such a day, it is to be hoped, will not be allowed to pass by like too many of its predecessors of late years, uncommemorated. Now is the time for some shew of unanimity, or never!
