Remembrance of the Absent One from Australia
Unknown Australia has come to the fore,
Her glory established for evermore,
The whole of the world has opened its eyes,
With loud exclamations of joy and surprise,
To find that our soldiers are classed with the best.
* * * * * *
’Tis the first time our lads have been put to the test.
* * * * * *
They are not found wanting in warfare or play,
And the deeds of our Heroes will never decay.
Leuname.
[Description: The British flag (Union Jack) and a lion, the Australian flag (blue ensign) and a kangaroo (with a rising sun above and between the two flags), with the word “Australia” inside of a golden boomerang, as well as a poem.]
