Editor’s notes:
Dimensions (approximate): 138 mm. (width), 87 mm. (height).
The signature on the postcard looks to be “JGx”, but it is thought to be the initials “JGR” (with a stylised “R”), as it is believed that the postcard is from the father, John Garibaldi Roberts, to his son Bert (Bertrand John Roberts).
The spelling of the property name “Eumana” has been confirmed with items published elsewhere. For example, see: “Births”, The Argus (Melbourne, Vic.), 29 August 1891, p. 1 [“ROBERTS. — On the 22nd inst., at Eumana, Hastings-road, Upper Hawthorn, the wife of John G. Roberts of a daughter.”]
