Quota system for immigrants
“What is needed is not a White Australia policy but a sound immigration policy with a system of quota controls.”
Thus Paddy Troy, Chairman of the WA State Committee of the Australian Communist Party, in a recent broadcast.
“The Communist Party recognises the need for immigration control. We do not want the uncontrolled immigration into Australia of more people from any country than we can absorb, which could threaten Australian standards of living,” he said.
With the interest of the people in the Communist Party’s constructive proposals on immigration, the Labor Party’s discrimination against colored people has shown itself to be out of step with popular opinion.
More than 20 workers on the job spoke to Paddy Troy, who is Vigilance Officer of the Coastal Docks, Rivers and Harbors Union, about his broadcast and congratulated him.
