Political Zionism inconsistent with Australianism
Melbourne, Friday.
Co-religionists, on whose behalf he spoke, considered political Zionism to be utterly inconsistent with their Australianism, said Sir Isaac Isaacs to-day.
The former Governor-General was replying to critics who, at political Zionist meetings in Sydney and Melbourne last night, attacked his views.
He said that he and those, for whom he spoke, regarded Australia as their homeland and their nationality to be Australian though their religion was Jewish.
