Bendigo mining notes.
Bendigo. — The stone on the top of the rise which the Johnson’s Reef have put up a height of 270 feet on the Collmann back, near the boundary, has widened out to over 7 feet, and payable gold is showing in the footwall side of the formation.
Nice specks of gold have been seen in the ore broken down by the New Moon in the 2025 feet intermediate level north, where there is mineralised quartz, between 2 and 3 feet thick, on the east back.
At the North Lady Brassey, Newstead, in the 760 feel south level, the reef in the end is 3½ feet wide, and a lot of minerals and a fair amount of fine gold is showing.
At the north level in the Victoria Consols at 2020 feet there are leaders and spurs on the east wall showing gold, the prospects on the footwall side bring very encouraging. In the workings south at 2800 feet the stone is showing good gold, but in another week or two it will be exhausted.
The centre country winze below 1850 feet in the United Hustler’s and Redan main shaft is down 159 feet, and the west leg of a reef has been passed through in the bottom. The ground is composed of slate and spurs, the indications pointing to more quartz being revealed at the K.K. shaft.
