Preface.

Much of the work included in this Booklet has been published in the Sydney Bulletin; some in the Sunday Times, The Grip, and the Australasian Dramatic Annual. The rest is new to print. The verses were written at different periods since 1890, and in different places. Some were set down in cities, and some were scribed in the remote Bush. They are expressions of passing moods and emotions, and lay no claim to culture, or the higher arts of song.
